The Law of Attraction and Taking Responsibility For Your Life
73Today I was reading a post by my friend Ezekiel Haynes and he was talking about finding your own way in these troubled financial times, his post got me thinking about how many people view their future in the light of the situation and what they choose to do about it.
There seems to be two categories that most people fall into, the first group choose to keep a close eye on what is happening in the global economy and live each day fearing what is going to happen next and waiting to find out what the powers that be are going to do about it.
The second group (a much smaller group) is also keeping up to date on the situation, but they choose not to allow what is going on outside of themselves to disrupt their internal balance and they live joyfully and abundantly.
So what separates these two groups of people? What makes one group fearful and the other group joyous?
The second group is taking responsibility for their own lives. At first glance this may seem like an over simplification but I do not believe it is. As human beings we tend to have faith in things and situations that are complex and difficult. We find it very hard to believe in solutions that are simple and straightforward because generally we are raised to believe that life is hard and anything worth having must be fought for.
Ask yourself this question, when things are going badly in your life how do you respond? Do you look for someone to blame? Do seek solutions? Do you look within yourself?
The answers to these questions will show you which of the two groups you belong too. If you are not taking responsibility for your life, when you are faced with adversity you will immediately look around you for someone or something to blame and then you will wait around for someone to put the situation right for you. However if you are taking responsibility for your life you will ask yourself one simple question and the answer to the question will reveal the solution. The question is, what thoughts, feelings and actions of mine created this situation? The answer could be, feeding off the negativity in the media, it could be constantly listening to my family members discussing how terrible life is, or it could be hearing my boss telling the staff members that things are terrible and we should be worried.
When you realize why you are experiencing challenges in your life you can easily go about changing them. If your family members are fearful of their future and insist upon discussing it constantly, try to help them to see that things are only bad if you choose to give someone else responsibility for your experiences, if it is not possible to do so remove yourself from the conversation. Find something positive to occupy your mind with.
The point is you do not have to accept what is happening outside of you as your permanent reality. Just as you created it you can change it. There is enormous power and great freedom in this knowledge. People often perceive change as being extremely painful, but it most certainly does not have to be that way. Living in fear is much more painful. When you choose to take responsibility you are free to create your life exactly how you want it. When you are not taking responsibility you are waiting for someone else to create it the way you want it and when you leave your happiness up to someone else they rarely fulfill your needs.
So stop looking to the government, your parents, your spouse, your neighbors, your local politician or whoever else you have handed your future over too, to change your situation for you, instead study your actions, study your words and study your thoughts to find out how you created the situation and then set about changing it. It is far more painful to sit around waiting for change than to get up and make the changes for yourself. As I always say, if you do nothing, you get nothing in return.

Absolutely fantastic! I study, write about and try to live by the law of attraction. Your article was fantastic and I am interested in reading more from you! Even someone who believes needs reminders and refreshers now and again! Thanks!
Completely agree with this, it is important to take responsibility for our own lives, rather than blaming external circumstances all the time.
